So I Emailed NBC Universal & Comcast About The Late Night Scheduling Debacle

So with the current conflict involving NBC Universal, Conan O'Brien and the state of "The Tonight Show" (with it's 55-year tradition airing after the late local news), I felt, like many "Team Conan" Facebook group members, decided to email some of the following:
- NBC Universal President & CEO Jeff Zucker
- Comcast President Brian Roberts (85% owner by mid-2010)
- General Electric President & CEO Jeffrey Inmelt (15% owner by mid-2010)
- Tracey Cole, Station Manager of WAND-TV NBC Storm Center 17; Decatur, Illinois
- Ron Pulera, General Manager of WAND-TV NBC Storm Center 17; Decatur, Illinois
- Rebecca Rahm, Programming Director of KSDK-TV; St. Louis, Missouri

This message is to let you know that we intend to cease watching NBC networks including the local programming on KSDK in St. Louis, MO and WAND in Decatur, IL, due to the unfair treatment NBC has given to Conan O'Brien and more than likely, the rest of the late night team of Jimmy Fallon and Carson Daly.

I've watched NBC's late night lineup since 1989 (even though I was supposed to be asleep then), starting with Johnny Carson and Dave Letterman. Years later, it became Jay Leno and Conan O'Brien, while adding Carson Daly many years later. Now, it's Conan and Jimmy Fallon, along with Daly. I've watched NBC late night for so long, I feel that NBC's current actions will end up destroying two of the biggest franchises on the network, only because you want Jay Leno back in late night.

While we are disappointed to be losing him from The Tonight Show, our distaste stems more from the manner in which the network handled this situation. We do not believe in supporting a company that engages in such underhanded and mean business practices. That kind of method of operation does not mesh with the values of our family.

Jake Leonard

P.S. Unfortunately, there wasn't much left on your network worth watching anyway. I probably won't stop with boycotting NBC - I'll probably end up boycotting every channel under NBC Universal-production under General Electric and Comcast payroll.

I'll update you of any responses...
